I understand that this whole Swine Flu thing is a pretty big deal. I understand that about 200 people have died. That's terrible. I understand that this can spread really badly throughout our world in a way that could hurt people. I get it. For real.
I don't understand why this is making all the crazy news hype that it is. Again, read above. I understand the situation.
4,000 children die EVERY DAY due to things like unclean water and malnutrition. Things that could be cured with some cheap medicine, a water filter and a little bit of food.
Guess what, there are a lot of really fat people in America, Europe, and other parts of the world that have a lot of excess resources and fat.
Just sayin...
So, either go to the store and buy a can of food, find a local food pantry and drop it off, send a check to World Relief, World Vision or something else of the sort or head off to Walmart and buy a few hundred dollars worth of disinfectant, gloves, masks and voodoo dolls to protect yourself.
peace,

Every year 36,000 people in America die due to flu-related causes. Number of deaths in US due to swine flu: 0. So yes, you're exactly right. Someone tell the media to shut up! "I ain't worried about Ted Koppel!"
Teetsel, this is why you hot, this is why you hot, this is why, this is why, this is why you hot...
"You won't find a kid in Rwanda with a lactose intolerance"
My sentiment, exactly. But I do like Obama turning handwashing into a patriotic act. Woot! Perhaps my future students will actually wash my hands because of it...
Yes but, it's the whole fact that it can become a pandemic. The whole fact that last time, I think in 1918, the swine flue killed 50 million people. That's 50 million people dieing from the same disease within the span of a year or two, which is pretty freaky. (btw a pig here died from a cold a few days ago. It's sad for the pigs too :( )
